My Sister’s Website

I wanted rosy red… she wanted shimmering blue… we ended up with something in between… a gorgeous colorful iridescent… totally unexpected… but maybe this has possibility…

And so it began… two sisters with completely different visions…

Chrisi.com bios

Chrisi (the artist and namesake):
Chrisi is a self-taught artist originally from Los Angeles who now lives and works in Truckee, California. Her artwork always “paints a picture”, with dreamlike scenes filled with colorful animals, mythological creatures, adventures and fantasies. Chrisi is a former teacher which is why she so firmly believes in the importance of imagination, childlike wonder and optimism in a world that is all too serious. Each piece of art reflects this belief and is personally designed and hand painted by Chrisi. She creates each one-of-a-kind hand painted piece using several different brightly colored stains and vibrant acrylic paints to turn an ordinary piece of furniture or a hunk of wood into a functional piece of art. Chrisi’s functional art is made to enjoy, inspire and last for as long as your imagination and care will allow!

Tracy (buyer, operations manager, public relations director etc.):
Tracy is a UCLA graduate. Armed with her degree in Art History and History she set out to conquer the world. She worked in entertainment in International Sales at MGM. Next she went to work for a French clothing manufacturer who had boutiques in Los Angeles, Newport Beach, San Francisco, Miami and Las Vegas. She was involved in the merchandising, the buying, the opening of new locations and the management of individual stores. She was also in charge of the development of his website. Eventually she returned to the Art part of her Art History major and went to work at the Getty Museum. She worked on their stores Product Development team including furthering the development of the Museums online store. One of her favorite projects included developing a line of recycled tote bags made from street banners promoting museum exhibitions. And just in case you haven’t figured it out yet. Tracy hails from Los Angeles and is currently spliting her time between Los Angeles, New York and Truckee, California.

Chris Tokunaga: Chris is the talent behind the logo. He is an experienced web designer that thankfully is a friend of the owners. Chris has worked on many website designs and animation for a major toy company. Chrisi knew it had to be a mermaid and Chris designed the stunning image you see today. Stacy Swineford: If you don’t like the words on the website, Stacy is the one to blame. As a previous technical telecommunications writer she perhaps went a little crazy with the creative license Tracy and Chrisi gave her. She also writes about herself in the third person.
